Dave
Press is the Program Director of Gold Coast Region BBYO.
He had previously served as the Assistant Regional Director until May
2006.
He
was a founding member of Mysteria AZA and the 1st Aleph Godol
of his chapter. He also served as Gold Coast Council Aleph Godol in
1997-98, and Aleph Moreh in 1998-99. Dave attended Chapter Leadership
Training Conference (CLTC) in 1996, International Kallah and
International Leadership Training Conference (ILTC) in 1997, and several
International Conventions. Dave has also worked as a member of the
leadership staff at CLTC in 2004, as well as ILTC in 2005 & 2006,
and returned to CLTC in 2007 in the capacity of Lead Leadership.
In 2008, Dave served as the Program Director for CLTC 3 at B'nai
B'rith Beber Camp in Mukwonago, Wisconsin.
Prior to
returning to BBYO in February 2004 as an employee, Dave had worked as a
7th-grade teacher in inner-city Philadelphia, as part of
Teach For America, a national organization striving to provide children
with an excellent education, regardless of their economic backgrounds.
He has also worked as a congressional intern in Washington, D.C., and as
the legislative assistant at the University of Central Florida, lobbying
the state legislature for initiatives regarding higher education. Born
and raised in Cooper City, Florida, Dave now lives in Fort Lauderdale.
He attended Cooper City High School, and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors Degree in
Political Science as well as a minor in Criminal Justice from the
University of Central Florida in 2003. Dave also expects to
complete his
Masters Degree in Nonprofit Management in May 2009. He is a past
two-term Vice President of Alpha Epsilon Pi, the Jewish Fraternity, and
was very active with Hillel while in college. |
